Construction Project Manager, Electrical

<p>We are hiring an experienced Electrical Construction Project Manager to lead large-scale commercial projects across healthcare, institutional, industrial, and complex commercial environments.</p><p>This is a hands-on project leadership position within a self-performing electrical contractor. You will take direct ownership of projects from preconstruction and turnover through field execution, financial management, and final closeout.</p><p>The ideal candidate understands commercial electrical systems, can effectively lead field and office coordination, and has a proven ability to manage multiple active projects without heavy oversight.

You will work closely with general contractors, clients, foremen, BIM/VDC, estimating, prefabrication, vendors, and internal leadership to ensure each project is delivered safely, profitably, and on schedule.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Lead commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction and project turnover through completion and closeout</li><li>Develop and maintain project schedules, manpower plans, procurement timelines, and execution strategies</li><li>Coordinate electricians, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, general contractors, and internal project teams</li><li>Serve as a primary contact for clients, inspectors, general contractors, and other project stakeholders</li><li>Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and scope requirements</li><li>Manage project budgets, cost forecasts, labor productivity, billing, and overall financial performance</li><li>Prepare, price, negotiate, and track change orders throughout the project lifecycle</li><li>Coordinate with BIM/VDC and prefabrication teams to resolve conflicts and support efficient field installation</li><li>Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams to ensure accurate scope turnover and project planning</li><li>Identify labor, material, scheduling, and coordination risks before they affect project delivery</li><li>Lead project meetings and provide clear updates regarding progress, staffing, costs, and operational challenges</li><li>Oversee procurement, material deliveries, subcontractor performance, and project documentation</li><li>Maintain accountability for safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and client satisfaction</li><li>Manage multiple active commercial electrical projects across Michigan</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years of commercial electrical construction project management experience</li><li>Direct experience working for an electrical contractor or self-performing electrical construction company</li><li>Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, field operations, sequencing, and installation requirements</li><li>Proven experience independently managing projects from preconstruction through final closeout</li><li>Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, contracts, and construction documents</li><li>Experience managing project budgets, labor productivity, forecasting, billing, and change orders</li><li>Ability to coordinate field teams, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments</li><li>Experience managing multiple active projects while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality expectations</li><li>Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills</li><li>Commercial electrical experience is required; residential-only backgrounds will not be considered</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><ul><li>$125,000–$140,000 base salary</li><li>Bonus potential</li><li>Health insurance and benefits package</li><li>Retirement plan options</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Stable pipeline of large and complex commercial electrical projects</li><li>Dedicated support from estimating, BIM/VDC, prefabrication, and field leadership teams</li></ul><p>This opportunity is ideal for an experienced electrical Project Manager who wants ownership of major projects, strong internal resources, and the ability to directly influence project execution and profitability.</p>
