As a Test Engineer for the Alarms team, you will be responsible for ensuring the absolute reliability of our mission-critical security hardware and software. You'll be working across the entire stack, building the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test infrastructure, writing automation, and catching problems before they reach production.
- Design and implement automated test frameworks for embedded alarm and safety products.
- Build hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing systems that validate real devices under realistic operating conditions.
- Develop tests that verify both individual components (sensors, controllers, communication modules) and end-to-end system behavior .
- Write software to coordinate devices, test rigs, and cloud APIs for automated system validation.
- Simulate real-world scenarios such as sensor faults, communication failures, power interruptions, and alarm events.
- Build tooling and infrastructure that allow tests to run continuously in automated environments.
- Work closely with firmware, hardware, and backend teams to debug issues and improve test coverage.
- Engineering background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience working with embedded systems or hardware devices .
- Ability to write software to automate tests and coordinate hardware devices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to system reliability.
- Experience with life safety or mission-critical regulatory standards (UL, ULC, etc.).
- Prior experience implementing Machine Learning or AI tools to optimize QA workflows.
