Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense. The Space & Airborne Center within Systems Integration & Test seeks talented Systems Engineers. Our Space & Airborne team members located in El Segundo, CA integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer.

We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. Every day is a different set of challenges to overcome. You'll be expected to collaborate across disciplines and partner to implement solutions.

In this role, you'll get to know a little bit about every aspect of the system and have a direct hand in making it all work together supporting teams of engineers engaged in integration and test efforts. Our center focuses on back end sustainment and repair design and sustainment development as well as transitioning systems through integration and test from production to warranty/sustainment.

You will also perform functional / physical analysis, allocation, and trade studies. You will support Radar Mode requirement verification, engineering testing, integration and flight-testing, production, system deployment, and post deployment support in a hands-on laboratory environment. Through Digital Transformation (DTx), you will perform these functions using a variety of methods and enabling technologies, which may include Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development.

You will develop/execute test procedures and identify/isolate anomalies to hardware, software, or system interfaces. This position is an onsite role in El Segundo, CA. Test event support activity may require travel which is not expected to exceed 10%.

What You Will Do Support planning and execution of Integration, Verification, and Validation Test activities in our labs or, occasionally, in the field Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment Handle system hardware modules or units, some with the use of support equipment Complete detailed system or software test data records, including the use of analysis tools such as MATLAB Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders Support in managing engineering support activities related to test and trouble-shoot of hardware Interpret and maintain design specifications and drawings (Schematics & Assembly Drawings) Maintain engineering databases Support the development system technical solutions with Engineering teams Provide support to Engineering Integrated Product Team Leads via periodic team meetings, working group meetings, and individual tasks.

Support activity may require travel What You Will Learn After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be part of a team supporting Systems Engineering, Systems Integration & Test activities across the product development lifecycle.

Qualifications You Must Have Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) Experience with troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, including the use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.) Experience with tools, such as Microsoft Office, MATLAB or Python, for data analysis and automation Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects Qualifications We Prefer Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, with coursework in RF electronics Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols Experience with reading and integrating software routines with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C# preferred Experience with using telemetry data collection equipment to capture real time data and/or real time monitoring Experience with instrumentation and collection of large data sets, including the application of scripting or automation to data collection and analysis

Please consider the following role type definition as you apply for this role. Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance. The salary range for this role is 62,900 USD - 119,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
