Design Engineering Lead

- Mechanical Design - creating detailed specifications for HVAC and structural systems - HVAC System Design - designing climate control solutions - Design Optimization - refining designs to balance performance, cost, and compliance - Technical Solution Design - translating customer needs into actionable engineering deliverables - System Architecture - defining integration strategies for multi-system mechanical environments - Problem Solving - diagnosing and resolving technical challenges in lab and field settings - Requirements Analysis - interpreting customer and regulatory specifications into design criteria - Technical Documentation - producing clear reports, test plans, and design documentation

- Four-year Mechanical or Architectural Engineering degree - Professional Engineer registration preferred - Minimum 7-10 years relevant work experience - Advanced understanding of mechanical building systems and energy use for a variety of building types including K-12 schools, university facilities and housing, correctional facilities, medical facilities, etc. - Advanced verbal and written communication skills including, but not limited to, the ability to listen effectively and solicit input from others - Advanced understanding of the design, specification and operation of mechanical systems and equipment. - Proficiency with engineering calculations for chosen engineering discipline

- Mechanical - loads, ventilation, psychrometrics and air & hydronic calculations

- Advanced understanding of International Building Council codes and applicable area codes and related Mechanical standards and guidelines. - Willing to travel up to 25% to project sites

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 101,600 - USD 152,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States.

Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
