As a Manager, Engineering, you will lead a team responsible for delivering reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions that support Starbucks engineering teams. You will drive operational excellence, enable developer productivity, and ensure high-performing systems and infrastructure that power partner and customer experiences.

* Lead engineering operations and reliability

• Oversee system configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and support to ensure stability and performance * Enable development teams
• Partner closely with engineers to resolve issues, improve workflows, and support build and release processes * Drive operational excellence
• Lead Incident, Change, Release, and Problem Management practices while implementing monitoring and alerting solutions * Ensure secure and compliant systems
• Deliver solutions aligned with security, architecture, and regulatory standards (e.g., PCI, SOX) * Automate and scale
• Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability * Lead and develop a high-performing team
• Coach and manage engineers, driving engagement, growth, and strong team performance * Collaborate across teams and vendors
• Build strong cross-functional partnerships and manage external partners to achieve business outcomes

* 8–10 years of experience in software development, systems engineering, or infrastructure operations * 5+ years managing complex systems or application development projects * 3–5 years leading or managing technical teams * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field * Experience with cloud or highly virtualized environments * Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools * Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, load balancing, firewalls, proxies) * Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go * Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver in a fast-paced environment
