About the Role Designed for an electrical engineering student approaching graduation, the Substation Engineer role offers the opportunity to develop specialized expertise in high-voltage substation engineering. The engineer will support the development, design, construction, and operation of new and existing substations. .
Responsibilities What You Will Do Support competitive proposals and project development activities involving substation engineering, procurement, and construction. Support the preparation and review of substation design packages, including physical layouts, material specifications, and construction specifications. Review protection and control designs and related electrical studies and reports.
Develop and review project cost and schedule estimates. Evaluate engineering, procurement, and construction alternatives to identify solutions that balance cost, safety, reliability, constructability, schedule, and other project requirements. Provide technical support for new and existing substation assets during development, construction, and operations.
Support the management of engineering, procurement, and construction contracts and coordinate with consultants and contractors.
Qualifications We Want You On Our Team Because You Have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university, with an expected graduation date of December 2026 or May 2027. Have an understanding of electric-power systems developed through coursework, research, internships, or academic projects.
Have an interest in high-voltage substation engineering, procurement, and construction. Can perform technical analyses, interpret results, and clearly explain and support conclusions. Have strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Can manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Work effectively with others. Take initiative to learn unfamiliar technical subjects and address new challenges.
