Job Description Pay Rate: $21.30 1st shift - Monday to Friday 8:30AM to 5:00PM

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

1-2 years of work experience in material handling, including warehousing, shipping, receiving, and experience is required

Operating pallet jacks preferred

Environmental Conditions

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C, Fluctuating Temps hot/cold, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Rapid flashing lights, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Standing for full shift, Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Various outside weather conditions, Will work with hazardous/toxic materials, Working at heights

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • The role primarily involves working independently at customer sites, which may include areas with chemical-based allergens like penicillin and tetracycline.
  • Personal protective equipment, such as lab coats, coveralls, facemasks, and steel-toe shoes, is often required.
  • The position requires regular lifting of 30-40 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and using equipment like pushcarts and forklifts to move up to 100 lbs.
  • Standing, walking, reaching, and bending are frequent activities, sometimes in varied temperature environments.
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00PM. Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $15.85–$26.41.

Join our dedicated Dock Specialist team in Unity Lab Services, where we ensure seamless logistics and support tailored to our customers' unique needs. We’re seeking an organized Dock Specialist to manage shipping and receiving operations. You'll be the point of contact for customers and carriers, ensuring compliance and efficiency in all dock activities.

A day in the Life:
  • Generate, verify, and match shipping labels with incoming packages to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain awareness of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and ensure compliance.
  • Identify order discrepancies and raise to appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure all incoming and outgoing packages are scanned accurately for inventory control.
  • Safely operate pallet jacks to move heavy packages and pallets.
  • Ensure proper handling and placement of items to prevent damage.
  • Coordinate the delivery of materials to the appropriate locations.
  • Manage receiving documentation and maintain shipment records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock area while supporting daily shipping and receiving operations.
  • Communicate with customers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve delivery issues and support efficient dock operations.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by management.
