The Information Experience team at Splunk is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to design and build the next generation of content and knowledge workflow platforms. In this role, you will develop software consistent with Cisco's 'Design Thinking Principles,' placing simplification and User Experience (UX) at the core of your work.
You will partner with product management and design teams to build scalable, secure, and AI-integrated solutions that empower our customers and internal stakeholders.
- Design, develop, and maintain web-based framework applications and internal tools using JavaScript (React/Node.js), PHP, and/or Python to enhance content workflows and operational efficiency.
- Critically evaluate and integrate AI methodologies into work processes to improve problem solving and decision making. Build tools and workflows that can operate at scale within a global team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support and evolve content authoring and publishing ecosystems.
- Support the creation of user-friendly and highly functional content websites and content systems that assist internal teams and external users.
- Collaborate and work closely with technical writers, UX designers, and product teams to deliver solutions that improve content delivery and user experience.
- Bachelors + 5 years of related experience, or Masters + 3 years of related experience, or PhD +1 year of related experience
- 2+ years experience building and maintaining content management systems, portals, or similar platforms.
- 3+ years experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, PHP, or similar, and experience with frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- 2+ years experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and experience deploying and managing applications for scale in a cloud environment.
- Hands-on experience prototyping and building toolsets with LLMs, integrating agentic workflows, and scaling automations to support content deliverables.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross-functional global teams.
- Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and understanding of best practices in content architecture, workflow configuration, and integrations with web applications.
- Experience in building and integrating RESTful APIs, MCP, or similar to connect content systems with other applications.
The starting salary range posted for this position is $128,600.00 to $184,900.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits.
