This is a hybrid role with three days per week at Cisco’s Austin office

The Cisco Common Hardware Group (CHG) is growing its next-generation power engineering team. You'll join industry-leading innovators in the field of Fault Managed Power (FMP) to redefine how DC power is distributed in buildings and datacenters in the AI era.   • Develop high reliability power supplies and system-level power architectures for Cisco power distribution platforms.
  • Architect, design, develop, and qualify power systems, subsystems, and components for highly reliable power distribution systems.
  • Partner with layout, mechanical, thermal, test, supply chain, manufacturing, and compliance teams to deliver best-in-class power solutions.
  • Bachelors + 12 years of related experience, or Masters + 8 years of related experience, or PhD + 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience working as a power design engineer for high-reliability power supplies for DC-powered equipment.
  • Proven experience with all aspects of power product lifecycle from early product definition all the way through shipping products to customers, and everything in between.
  • Experience with resolving EMI, EMC, and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Experience with high-density, redundant AC and also DC input front-end power supplies for networking and telecom equipment.
  • Experience with 480V/277V HVAC and 200V-400V HVDC input supplies
  • Experience with digital circuit fault detection and mitigation technologies such as solid--state overcurrent protection, arc fault detection, or ground fault detection.
  • Experience meeting Functional Safety requirements from standards such as IEC 61508 or similar as well as product safety standards such as IEC 62368 or UL 1400-1

The starting salary range posted for this position is $169,300.00 to $237,200.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits.

Non-Metro New York state & Washington state: $179,000.00 - $294,000.00
