Forsgren, an Apex Company is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer to join our growing Boise, Idaho office. This position offers the opportunity to lead the planning, design, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of civil engineering projects for both public and private sector clients throughout Idaho and the surrounding region.

As a technical lead, you will be responsible for supporting projects through all phases of design and construction while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including transportation, water resources, environmental, geotechnical, survey, and structural professionals. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical design experience, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects while mentoring junior engineers.

Projects may include commercial and industrial site development, municipal infrastructure, roadway improvements, utility systems, grading and drainage, stormwater management, and other civil engineering improvements.

- Serve as the lead civil engineer for a variety of site development and civil infrastructure projects from planning through final design and construction support.

- Prepare, review, and oversee engineering calculations, technical reports, construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.

- Design and coordinate grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility systems, roadway improvements, and site development infrastructure in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal design standards.

- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support stormwater management, detention systems, conveyance facilities, and erosion control design.

- Develop construction documents utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and associated design software.

- Coordinate project deliverables with survey, environmental, geotechnical, structural, transportation, and water resources teams.

- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and technical quality while ensuring successful project delivery and client satisfaction.

- Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of engineering plans, calculations, and technical documents.

- Support permitting efforts through coordination with local municipalities, regulatory agencies, and utility providers.

- Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), review submittals, and provide engineering support during construction.

- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design staff.

- Participate in project meetings and maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and internal project teams.

- Support proposal preparation and technical interviews as needed.

- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Idaho, or the ability to obtain licensure within one year of hire.

- 5+ years of consulting engineering experience in civil engineering design and project delivery.

- Experience preparing engineering plans and specifications for civil infrastructure and site development projects.

- Strong understanding of grading design, utility layout, stormwater management, drainage systems, and applicable engineering standards.

- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects through design and construction.

- Working knowledge of local agency standards, permitting processes, and applicable design codes.

- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and engineering design software.

- Experience preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documents.

- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting schedules and budgets.

- Cross-training and the ability to work on a variety of projects.
