Work Schedule:

Onsite – Buffalo, NY

We are looking for a Lathe Machinist in our Military Aircraft Group who is passionate about precision, quality, and continuous improvement. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC and/or manual lathes to produce complex parts with tight tolerances, directly contributing to products that support cutting-edge technologies. You’ll work alongside a team of dedicated professionals in a culture that values craftsmanship, accountability, and operational excellence.

This position is eligible for a $3,500 sign-on bonus. To qualify, candidates must submit their application between July 20, 2026, and September 11, 2026, and is subject to the terms of the bonus agreement.

To be considered for this role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist, working on Lathe machines with Mill capabilities.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of G-Code is preferred
  • Knowledge of Fanuc controls a plus
  • In accordance with strict Federal Aviation Agency (F.A.A.) regulations regarding Safety Sensitive Work (S.S.W.), employee enrollment & participation in the company’s "F.A.A. Drug & Alcohol Program" is a requirement for this position.
  • As a Lathe Machinist II, you will:

  • Set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes to produce precision components to blueprint specifications.
  • Perform tool changes, offset adjustments, and machine setups for new and existing jobs.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and work instructions.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify compliance with dimensional and quality requirements.
  • Monitor machine performance and make process adjustments to maintain production efficiency and part quality.
  • Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues and communicate concerns to leadership and engineering teams.
  • Maintain accurate production records and follow all safety and quality procedures.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $28.00–$32.00 Hourly

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
