What you'll do: Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle: definition, design, implementation, unit testing, and code deployment Write and maintain application code primarily in Java ; exposure to JavaScript, Python, C#, or C++ is a plus Develop and execute unit tests to ensure quality of releasable software Participate in peer code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality Contribute to the SaFE/Agile backlog under the guidance of senior developers and the assigned SCRUM Master Collaborate with developers, testers, platform engineers, and software architects to produce and maintain code Support REST data/service integrations feeding into SaaS applications Assist in documenting processes, code, and technical decisions clearly and concisely Participate in usability reviews and contribute to improvements in software design Follow established design guidelines, best practices, and coding standards Qualifications Required Qualifications Associate's degree and 2+ years of relevant software development experience; OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; OR 4+ years of relevant software development experience in lieu of a degree.
This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Top-Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI. The candidate must maintain the clearance Working knowledge of Java (primary language) Familiarity with SpringBoot or similar frameworks Basic familiarity with Docker and CI/CD concepts Basic knowledge of AWS development environment Experience with or exposure to Agile/Scrum development process Basic knowledge of Git and version control workflows Ability to document processes clearly and concisely Strong communication skills; able to work effectively in a team environment Flexible, able to meet deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities Desired Qualifications Prior Space Weather coding experience or academic coursework Familiarity with Apache Camel Exposure to GitLab CI/CD pipelines Familiarity with C, C#, C++, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, or CSS Self-starter; able to work collaboratively or with minimum direction Basic knowledge of AWS/C2S Cloud environments Investigative/root-cause analysis skills for code issues
