Full job description

Agility’s commercially deployed humanoids operate alongside teams in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers—tackling physically demanding and repetitive tasks while enabling workers to focus on higher-value work. With industry-leading safety standards and years of proven deployment data, we're pioneering a new era of automation that enhances human potential.

About the Role

At Agility Robotics, we are building a future where robots work alongside people to make life better. To achieve this, we are seeking a highly technical and results-driven Senior Technical Program Manager to support the Skill Development Team. You will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of our robot skills roadmap, which focuses on creating generalizable robot behaviors and capabilities. You will partner closely with Product Management to translate the robot skill roadmap into actionable execution plans, balancing time-sensitive features and fixes for customer deployments with strategic platform scaling.

What You'll Do
  • Translate Strategy into Execution: Partner with Product Management and senior engineering leaders to translate the product roadmap into detailed, actionable execution plans with clear milestones, scoping, and timelines.
  • Strategic Prioritization: Optimize the execution of the Skill Development Team by managing the balance between long-range technical goals and the fast-paced demands of immediate commercial rollouts.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment: Proactively manage complex technical dependencies and facilitate alignment across Robot Software, AI Engineering, Solutions Engineering, and Fleet Orchestration (i.e. Arc) teams.
  • Maximize Team Efficiency: Establish operational rigor and process clarity within the team using tools like Jira; optimize sprint mechanics & metrics, run agile ceremonies, and resolve roadblocks to maintain predictable delivery timelines.
  • Own the Skills Lifecycle: Guide the lifecycle of manipulation and perception capabilities from early-stage prototyping and feasibility assessments to robust, commercially viable, and pilot-ready production features.
  • Provide Transparent Clarity: Serve as the central point of communication for your programs, delivering concise updates on project health, timeline deviations, and risk mitigation strategies to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Travel: Up to 2 weeks per quarter to customer sites, Agility offices, or offsites.
About You Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in technical program management or project management with a rigorous focus on software engineering lifecycles within an Agile software development environment.
  • Hardware-Adjacent Software Expertise: Demonstrated experience driving programs for complex software systems that directly interact with physical hardware (e.g., robotics, autonomous vehicles, embedded systems, or IoT).
  • Operational Tool Mastery: Advanced proficiency utilizing Jira (or similar) to architect workflows, track cross-team dependencies, and manage program roadmaps.
  • Influence Without Authority: Proven track record of proactively influencing the roadmaps of key cross-functional partners (e.g., Robot Software, AI Engineering) to ensure critical dependencies are met and unblock the team's work.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to align stakeholders across multi-disciplinary teams and communicate effectively to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Robotics Domain Knowledge: Exposure to or experience with perception systems, robotic manipulation & controls pipelines, or machine learning frameworks (such as Learning from Demonstration/LfD).
  • Data-driven Scalability and Reliability: Proven track record of leveraging reliability data (e.g. Pareto analysis of issues and root causes) to drive timely bug fixes and high-impact, systemic improvements that harden code for commercial production.
  • Scale-Up Environment: Experience guiding software development from early prototyping and validation environments to high-reliability commercial deployments.
  • Simulation-Based Validation: Experience using simulation environments to drive test coverage, validation, and release readiness for software deployed on physical systems.
